HELP NEEDED TO APPREHEND PARKER MTN. ANTELOPE POACHERS
LOA -
Between April 18 and August 19, 1998 twelve pronghorn antelope have been shot and left to waste in the Parker Mountain area in South-Central Utah. The pronghorn have been found along
well traveled roads throughout the central part of the Parker, where the pronghorn tend to spend the summer. Judging from forensic evidence collected at the crime scenes, the pronghorn
have been shot with a variety of high caliber rifles. Some important evidence has been collected at a number of the crime scenes. The time of day and the day of the week the
pronghorn have been shot varies. Jim Lamb, the Conservation Officer in Loa who is heading up the investigation, believes that the poaching is the work of an opportunist that is willing to
shoot these beautiful animals anytime or anywhere it is convenient. Among the dead pronghorn are two very respectable bucks that many of the legal hunters this fall would
have been pleased to harvest. A reward of up to $300.00 may be offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of (the) person(s) responsible for these poaching incidents.
Anyone with information on these pointless and outrageous crimes should call Officer Jim Lamb at (435) 836-2413 or the Poaching Hotline at 1-800-662-3337. Remember all
witnesses/informants will be kept strictly confidential at their request. Help us apprehend these poachers!
