UTAH OLYMPIC SHOOTING SPORTS ESSAY CONTEST

The Utah State Rifle & Pistol Association, with financial assistance from the National Shooting Sports Foundation and the Civilian Marksmanship
Program, is sponsoring an Olympic Shooting Sports Essay Contest at selected Utah schools, clubs and organizations and to the public at large. Each winner from each organization will be awarded two tickets for
the Saturday, February 16, 2002 Winter Olympics Pursuit Race at Soldier Hollow (100 tickets in all). In addition, the tickets for the top three winners will be presented by a former Olympian at a special

Essay Rules
Each essay must be maximum of four pages long, double-spaced.
Each essay must be on 8 1/2 x 11 standard white paper, using 12 point Times Roman type.
Graphics
are permitted and encouraged, but will not be counted as part of the page maximum.
Only Utah young men and young women ages 12-18 are eligible.
Each essay must have a cover page (which will not be counted as
part of the pages) with the following information:

Each essay should cover all the following topics:
Winter Olympic Games. History of winter and summer Biathlon, facts
about the events and number of events, and where the contestant can learn Biathlon in Utah. See www.usbiathlon.org.
Summer Olympic Games. History of Summer Olympics Shooting Events, facts about the events, how many events and where the contestant can learn Olympic Shooting in Utah. See
www.usashooting.com and www.usrpa.org.
Why the contestant would like to go to an Olympic Biathlon Race.
All submissions will become the property of the Utah State Rifle
& Pistol Association and must be mailed to the following address in a standard 10x13 envelope, postmarked by December 15, 2001:

ALL TRAVEL AND LODGING FOR THE WINNERS SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNERS. NEITHER THE UTAH STATE RIFLE AND PISTOL ASSOCIATION, THE NATIONAL SHOOTING SPORTS FOUNDATION,
NOR THE CIVILIAN MARKSMANSHIP PROGRAM, SHALL HAVE ANY LIABILITY WHATSOEVER BEYOND PROVIDING THE TICKET. THE WINNER ASSUMES ALL RISK AND LIABILITY FOR ATTENDING THE SPECIFIC EVENT. NO EXCHANGES CAN BE
